Contrary to what Tony Kavanagh believes, the present process of choosing
judges in this country is undemocratic and elitist. The infighting, ego-led
political campaigning behind closed doors that occurs makes a federal
or provincial campaign mild in comparison. I have some experience in all
three.
The smugness of implying that Canadian jurists hold a higher standing
internationally is offensive to any thinking Canadian, besides being plain
wrong.
