At its annual general meeting held on October 18, 2024, William Vasiliou was elected as a new director of the Canadina Justice Review Board (CJRB).
William (Bill) Vasiliou MBA, CPA, CGA (retired) is a certified fraud expert and the Province of Ontario's former registrar under the Mortgage Brokers Act in the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Vasiliou has a strong understanding of legal implications with respect to compliance having testified in over 30 cases in criminal and provincial cases, the OSC and CRAT, as well as being qualified as an expert witness. He identified solvency and fraud related issues arising from unsound financial and business practices.
Mr. Vasiliou has also been an educator and professor in the Financial Services and Real Property Administration Programs and instructed in courses dealing with residential and commercial property underwriting, financial math, contract law, and related matters for paralegals and business administrators.
During his lengthy tenure with the Ontario Ministry of Finance, Mr. Vasiliou developed and implemented financial services legislation and regulations, and developed educational standards under the Mortgage Brokers Act.
